Privacy Policy

This policy explains what HomeModel (“we,” “us”) collects when you use homemodel.net, our chat assistant and our forms, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have. It also serves as our notice at collection. For a short version, see our Notice at Collection.
What we do
HomeModel is a free service that connects homeowners with roofing and home-improvement contractors and with licensed insurance agents and companies. When you ask for quotes, we share your request with a small number of companies, whom we name before you submit, and they pay us. That is a “sale” of personal information under several state laws, and you can opt out at any time.

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, or health information, and we don't use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, estimate costs, and match you with contractors, agents, or websites.
- To contact you about your request, including by calls and texts where you've agreed.
- To record and verify your consent, prevent fraud, and meet legal duties such as Do Not Call rules.
- To operate, secure, measure and improve the site.
- For advertising, only if you haven't opted out.

In the past 12 months we have sold identifiers, property and project details, and insurance details to matched partners, and shared internet activity with advertising partners. We don't knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16.
Cookies, tracking & Global Privacy Control
We use essential cookies to run the site. With your permission we also use analytics and advertising cookies and pixels. Our cookie notice gives “Accept” and “Decline” equal weight, and closing it doesn't count as consent.
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser, in every state, and we show “Opt-Out Request Honored” when we detect it. We don't currently respond to “Do Not Track,” which has no common standard.
Our chat and forms may be recorded by us and our service providers to document consent and prevent fraud. The assistant is automated (AI), and it tells you so when a chat starts.

Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia), you can:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you, and get a portable copy.
- Delete personal information we collected from you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and profiling with significant effects.
- Appeal a decision we make on your request.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We verify requests by matching the email or phone you used with us. You can use an authorized agent with your signed permission. We respond within 45 days (we may extend once by 45 days and will tell you why). We process data-broker deletion requests received through California's DROP system where they apply.
Calls, texts & Do Not Call
We and your matched partners contact you only as you've agreed. You can revoke consent any reasonable way, such as replying STOP to a text, telling a caller, or using our Do Not Call page. We honor revocations within 10 business days and pass them to your matched partners.
Insurance information
Some insurance-related information may also be covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and state insurance privacy laws. Licensed agents and carriers who receive your request give you their own privacy notices.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, restrict access to people who need it, and require our service providers to protect it. No system is perfectly secure.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We'll post any changes here with a new date, and tell you directly about material changes where the law requires.
